An original Slocum Play!
Performed on Brier Island
The Westport Theatre Troupe has teamed up with the Joshua Slocum Society and the Brier Island Foundation to bring an original play to Brier Island in summer 2026.
Before the Sea: the Joshua Slocum story on Brier Island tells the tale of Slocum living on Brier Island from the age of 8-16 before he heads for life at sea.
Performance dates were Aug 8-9, 2026:
